Ordinance 18403 Update

KING COUNTY TO LEVY CHARGES FOR ROADWAY RENT

King County Ordinance 18403. Ordinance 18403 (enacted in November 2016) allows the County to negotiate rent with water, sewer, gas, and power utilities for being in the roadways (rights-of-way) pursuant to a franchise. The rent does not provide value or benefit to the utilities, instead it will go into the County’s General Fund.
