ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Cedar River Water & Sewer District until 11:00 a.m. on May 14, 2026, for construction of the Central Reservoir Seismic Retrofit.
Work to be performed includes:
- Provide modified foundation
• Remove and replace reservoir appurtenances (manway, overflow pipe, sample lines, guardrails, vent)
• Reservoir coatings
• Seal welding
• Install sixty-three 3-inch-diameter anchors to meet uplift requirements
• Install shell stiffeners
• Replace connections on the existing access platforms to secure grating to supports
• Provide mechanical piping improvements
• Provide overflow pond and piping
• Provide electrical and mechanical upgrades
All bidding and work will be performed in accordance with the project bid documents described below. Engineers Estimate for the project is $2.6 Million to $2.8 Million.
It is highly recommended that all interested bidders attend the on-site pre-bid meeting and walk-through of the project on April 28, 2026, commencing promptly at 10:00 a.m., to inspect the existing reservoir and discuss the construction and bidding process. This meeting will be at 20029 SE 206th Street (project site).
Bid proposals will be received only at 18421 SE Petrovitsky Road, Renton, Washington 98058, by 11 a.m. on May 14, 2026, at which time they will be opened, read, and tabulated publicly. Proposals received after the time fixed for opening will not be considered.
Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (Plans, Specifications, Addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on “Posted Projects”, “Public Works”, and “Cedar River Water & Sewer District”. This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders “Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List”. Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. An informational copy of the contract documents is on file for inspection at the Cedar River Water & Sewer District.
The Cedar River Water & Sewer District hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into, pursuant to this advertisement, small, minority, women’s and veteran owned business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to the invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
Each bid proposal shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, postal money order, or surety bond in an amount equal to at least 5 percent of the amount of such bid proposal. Checks shall be made payable to the Cedar River Water & Sewer District. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bond within the time stated in the Specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the Cedar River Water & Sewer District.
The Cedar River Water & Sewer District reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding.
No bidder may withdraw his proposal after the time set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding 60 calendar days.
